Originally by: GM Retrofire See if the following works for any of you.
In Windows press the Windows button + R and in the command window type cmd and press enter
In the terminal window type "netsh winsock reset catalog" without the "
This will reset your Winsock protocols and prompt you to restart your computer, after you've restarted see if you are able to connect to EVE again.
Well Tried it yesterday and it "Seemed" to work" I had no problems for approx 6 hours today and then it started again when the server reached 32,000 users..both accounts.. Running cach size at medium setting....Hope this gets fixed soon!!! It has severely limited a lot of players from doing what they normally do...

Originally by: Gunslingerr I had the same problem ("The socket was closed", when trying to log in) but I fixed it by using "WinSock XP Fix", as per this post.
Ok I have tried this 3 days ago..I left both account logged in from DT to DT and thus far I have had NO Disconnects and /or socket disconnects..Now if it stays this way remains to be seen,,but for the time being thanks to the OP for this Hint..Maybe CCP should give you a job as this has, to me anyways, been the most helpful piece of Info I have rec'd yet..
I think that they (CCP Techs) tend to forget that most of us are just regular folks with limited technical skills..so CCP how about you fine folks come down to us little folks a bit and try and be a bit more helpful on our level...
